Aneri began her project by creating graphic files in Illustrator and Photoshop, drawing inspiration from Andy Warhol’s screen prints. Unlike Warhol, who critiqued the loss of individuality, Aneri infused her work with vibrant energy, celebrating women's agency.
This body of work invites the viewer to walk, and see the two sides of the parallel, and representation of Bollywood cinema through the pleated textile work.
Her graphics feature Indian Bollywood actors, anime-inspired Draupadi figures, real-life icons like Amrita Sher-Gil, and paintings by Raja Ravi Varma. Through these, Aneri explores diverse representations of women in Indian culture and cinema, breaking away from stereotypes. The use of screen printing techniques adds depth, reflecting the complex narrative of women’s empowerment in Bollywood.
