Designer and Artist

Aneri is an innovative Fashion and Textile designer proficient in Adobe Suite, CLO 3D, and NedGraphics, with a passion for designing with purpose. She specializes in product development, CADs, fashion illustrations, and working with vendors, both international and domestic.

With a keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving abilities, Aneri excels in creating visually appealing and functional designs that meet client requirements based on target markets and brand aesthetics.

A graduate of the prestigious MFA Textiles program at Parsons School of Design, Aneri also holds a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, with a specialization in illustration and couture, complemented by minors in print and surface design from the National Institute of Fashion Technology. Her creations, infused with whimsical flair and vibrant hues, honor artisans across India while using textiles as a canvas for social critique and political advocacy.

Aneri's expertise encompasses a diverse range of techniques, from hand and machine knitting to spinning, embellishment, crochet, natural dyeing, painting, and print design. She seamlessly knits together heirloom sarees, brocades, and discarded fabrics, each with its own unique story. Mindful of her environmental and social impact, she blends craft-heavy designs with cutting-edge technology, such as Shima Seiki knitting and programming, and digital design using Adobe Suite and Procreate.

Based in New York, Aneri has authored research papers and showcased thought-provoking sculptural installations, exploring the intricate layers of women’s autonomy within patriarchal frameworks. She aims to dismantle constraints on women’s agency and societal representation, striving for a more equitable and inclusive world.

Among her numerous accolades, Aneri has been recognized for her contributions with publications in the Decolonized and Decarbonized Symposium Vol 2 in 2022 and the prestigious Surface Design Association’s (SDA’s) Outstanding Student Award in 2024 for her work at Parsons School of Design. She was also honored with the Best Design Collection award from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Gandhinagar, India, in 2021.

Aneri cherishes the privilege of participating as a speaker at the Unraveling Fashion Narratives symposium, where she presented her work, ‘Threads of Liberation,’ exploring the intersections of colonization, media, and gender dynamics through textiles. Her creative endeavors have also been featured on the esteemed ArtsInSquare online platform for artists.

Guided by principles of conscious decision-making and a deep commitment to social and environmental harmony, Aneri continues to inspire and challenge conventions through her vibrant, hybrid, and transformative creations.
