Soof ka Safar, which translates to "The Journey of Soof," is a project dedicated to preserving and showcasing the Soof embroidery technique from the westernmost region of Gujarat. The project began with extensive research led by Aneri, who then collaborated closely with local artisans to develop unique motifs and embroidered fabrics.
The essence of the project was to create a zero-waste design and garment, reflecting a commitment to both the conservation of traditional crafts and sustainable practices. By meticulously working with the artisans, Aneri ensured that the Soof embroidery was not only celebrated but also utilized efficiently, avoiding any waste of fabric and preserving the integrity of the craft. This approach highlighted the importance of valuing and maintaining artisanal heritage while integrating modern sustainability principles.
